apa Architect & Project managers are humbled to be the Bay of Plenty’s latest award winning architect. Aladina Harunani & the apa Architects team are proud to have been recognised by the Architectural Designers of New Zealand (ADNZ).  In an award ceremony at the historic Blue Baths, Rotorua, Aladina & the team were awarded the title of Regional Winners within the industrial / commercial category of the 2016 ADNZ design awards for their design of the Tanatana Marae. The Tanatana Marae project is a testament to great design, careful project management and clever budgeting.

“It’s always humbling to be recognised as an award winning architect, purely for doing something you love” says Aladina. Coming from a very spiritual culture himself, Aladina & his team approach architecture as a spiritual exercise as well as a physical one. Aladina went to to philosophise “A holistic view is key to great architecture which compliments both space and people”.

The award was well covered in the media. As well as the Te Karere interview above, apa Architects also features on Maori Television News.
